Texas A&M Cardiology is recruiting Cavalier King Charles Spaniels for a new echocardiographic study investigating the anatomy of the mitral valve in healthy dogs!

 

Eligibility:

  • Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed
  • Dogs must be between 12 and 18 months of age (no exceptions)
  • No history of a heart murmur
  • No other on-going illnesses or chronic medications

 

Participation involves:

  • One visit to the Texas A&M Veterinary Teaching Hospital
  • Light sedation
  • A complete echocardiogram (with a small amount of fur shaved on each side of the chest)
  • One blood sample

 

Set screening dates (more to come):

  • Friday, January 13th
  • Wednesday, January 25th
  • Friday, March 3rd
