A Better Life
The Equine Internal Medicine Service cares for horses affected by a wide range of conditions, from sudden-onset critical illness to chronic conditions, as well as diseases affecting many of the body’s systems. These include weight loss, fever, respiratory disease, acute and chronic colic, diarrhea, neurologic symptoms, and many others.
Our faculty includes specialists that are leaders in the field of equine internal medicine. We understand the complex systems of a horse’s body and have access to state-of-the-art technology and diagnostic tools. And, with our on-site laboratories, we provide the most accurate and efficient diagnostic testing available.
We can also perform endoscopy of the airways, gastrointestinal, and urinary tracts and have access to one of the very best radiographic and diagnostic ultrasound services in the country.
The size of our clinical faculty allows us a unique opportunity to collaborate with other clinical services providing every patient a tremendous resource of specialists. Although our service commonly consults with veterinarians and many of our cases are referred, no referral is needed for an appointment.
Our team of clinicians, residents, interns, fourth-year veterinary students, and support staff are dedicated individuals that appreciate a total approach to the health and well-being of horses.
