Be aware that the Small and Large Animal Teaching Hospitals operate 24/7/365. This makes scheduling around classes easy and convenient; however, students may be asked to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. All student positions require no inhibiting allergies to animals or dust.

Administration Student Jobs

• Hospital Administration – Student Assistant
  The student assistant will, under general supervision, assist the Hospital Leadership in the VMTH Administration office.
• HR – Student Assistant
  The student assistant will provide support for the Human Resources and Accounting departments of the VMTH Administration office.
• Marketing & Outreach – Student Assistant
  The student assistant will develop and curate engaging content for the VMTH.
• Purchasing – Student Assistant
  The student assistant will provide support for the A/P purchasing staff.
• Purchasing – Student Technician
  The student technician will provide support for the VMTH purchasing office year-round position. Preferred accounting major and PPA candidate with VMTH A/P-purchasing office work experience and vast working knowledge of Aggie Buy and purchasing programs.

Small Animal Student Jobs

• Anesthesia – Student Technician
  The student technician provides technical support in the Anesthesia department, maintain safety protocols when handling animals, maintaining a high standard of patient care, keep all anesthesia areas clean, assist the other veterinary technicians and doctors as requested.
• Cardiology – Student Technician
  The student technician will aid in the upkeep and maintenance of supplies in the Cardiology Service.
• ER – Student Technician
  The student technician provides additional support of service needs in the Small Animal Emergency Room (ER). This includes cleaning and stocking of the service area, additional technical support of the full-time service Veterinary technicians, and patient care.
• Floater – Student Technician
  The student technician provides patient care and support in the Small Animal Service area assigned.
• Front Desk – Student Technician
  The student technician provides customer service during emergency hours, with limited daytime coverage within the Small Animal Hospital. Admit patent that requires emergency medical attention or has a scheduled appointment per hospital protocol and procedure.
• General Surgery – Student Technician
  The student technician provides support for the Small Animal General Surgery and Small Animal Surgery Services.
• Hospital Client Services – Student Assistant
  The Student Assistant provides customer service within the Small Animal Hospital. Admit patent that requires emergency medical attention or has a scheduled appointment per hospital protocol and procedure.
• Hospitalization – Student Assistant
  The Student Assistant provides support for the VMTH Small Animal Hospitalization Service on weekends, holidays, and occasional nights/weekdays.
• ICU/Fluid Ward – Student Assistant
  The Student Assistant provides support to the VMTH by providing clinical assistance to the clinicians, residents, and interns. Assists veterinary students in proper clinical technique supporting patient care while maintaining a sanitary and functionally well-organized service.
• ICU/Fluid Ward – Student Technician
  The student technician provides support to the VMTH by providing clinical assistance to the clinicians, residents, and interns. Assists veterinary students in proper clinical technique supporting patient care while maintaining a sanitary and functionally well-organized service.
• ICU Working Group – Student Assistant
  The student assistant provides support for the ICU Working Group.
• Internal Medicine – Student Technician
  The student technician provides upkeep and maintenance of supplies in the Small Animal Internal Medicine service area.
• Laundry – Student Technician
  The student technician is responsible for receiving, laundering, drying, folding, and ironing of linens, scrubs, lab coats and other various laundry. Prepare laundry items and personal protective equipment to work with infectious/contaminated laundry items. Prepare and perform sterilization of surgical instrumentation utilizing steam autoclave or plasma sterilization.
• Lobby – Student Technician
  The student technician provides customer support within the Small Animal Hospital, support to the admissions and discharge teams.
• Neurology – Student Technician
  The student technician provides patient care and support in the Small Animal Neurology Department.
• Oncology – Student Technician
  The student technician provides support for the Oncology Service.
• Oncology – DVM Student Technician
  The DVM student technician provides hands on experience and educational opportunities for 1VM, 2VM, and 3VM students while also providing needed assistance to the oncology department. This program will recruit 1VM students who intend to remain with the department for the duration of the 1VM, 2VM, and 3VM years.
• Ophthalmology – Student Technician
  The student technician provides patient care and support in the Small Animal Ophthalmology and Small Animal Surgery Services.

  The Student Assistant provides support for the Operating Room with purchase requisitions and inventory management.

  The student technician is responsible for surgical suite preparation, surgical preparation of patient, patient safety, surgical case circulation, charge entry, infectious case management, surgical suite cleaning, instrument decontamination and processing, assigned service duties, supply requisition, inventory maintenance, equipment care and troubleshooting, and emergency call.

• Client Communications – Student Assistant
  The student assistant provides excellent customer service to all clients (internal and external) via face-to-face communication and electronic communication (telecom and email). Student Assistants are scheduled to work varying shifts between 7am-11pm from Sunday through Saturday, including holidays.
